Apartment features may include central air conditioning, washer and dryer connections, linen closets, outside storage, wood-style flooring, ceiling fans, dishwashers, disposals, microwaves, refrigerators, and cable and high-speed internet readiness. Yes. Do you have furnished apartments available?

Yes! Cardinal Apartments welcomes both cats and dogs, with a maximum of two pets per apartment and no pet weight limit. The one-time pet fee is $300 for one pet or $450 for two pets, and monthly pet rent is $20 per pet. Breed restrictions apply, and all residents must complete the required PetScreening process. Does Cardinal Apartments have amenities for dogs?

Are there dog breed restrictions?
Yes. Restricted breeds include Rottweilers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, Miniature Pinschers, Akitas, Chows, Wolf Hybrids, Dogo Argentinos, Presa Canarios, Cane Corsos, Tosa Inus, and other pets deemed dangerous by management. Breed restrictions also apply to mixes containing a restricted breed.
Do I need to complete a PetScreening profile?
Yes. Cardinal Apartments uses PetScreening, a third-party service that helps applicants understand and acknowledge the community’s pet and animal policies. Create a Petscreening Profile
All applicants should complete the appropriate Pet, No Pet, or Animal Profile, even if they do not have a pet or animal. Assistance animals are also processed through the appropriate PetScreening profile.
Are gas grills permitted at the community?
Gas grills are permitted only when used in accordance with community rules and applicable fire-safety requirements. Grills must remain at least 10 feet away—both vertically and horizontally—from buildings, trees, pine needles, and other combustible materials.
Grills may not be stored or used on second-floor balconies. For added convenience, Cardinal Apartments provides community grills in designated areas away from the apartment buildings.
Is there a charge for parking?
No. Parking at Cardinal Apartments is free, and off-street parking is available throughout the community.

How do I apply for an apartment at Cardinal Apartments?
You can begin your application online through the Cardinal Apartments website. What is the approval process or criteria for approval?
A prospective resident’s gross income must generally be equal to or greater than three times the apartment’s monthly rental rate before discounts or leasing specials.
Each applicant will be screened individually. The screening process may include verification of employment, income, credit history, rental history, or mortgage-payment history. Applicants must have verifiable credit accounts in good standing and a satisfactory rental or mortgage-payment history.

How are roommates qualified?
Each adult roommate must complete a separate application and will be individually screened based on age, employment, income, credit history, and other qualification requirements.
Roommates may combine their income to meet the overall household-income requirement. However, each individual roommate must generally have gross income equal to or greater than two times the apartment’s monthly rental rate.
What is acceptable proof of income?
Applicants must have verifiable employment or provide proof of adequate income from another acceptable source. Employment may be verified through the employer’s human-resources or personnel department.
Self-employed applicants may be asked to provide additional documentation, including a verifiable tax statement showing earnings from the previous year. Additional documentation may be required depending on the applicant’s source of income.
What are the income and approval requirements?
Applicants generally need verifiable gross income equal to at least three times the apartment’s monthly rental rate. Each adult roommate must submit a separate application, and screening includes a review of credit, rental or mortgage history, employment, and income. Cardinal Apartments does not currently accept co-signers. All applicants should review the complete qualification guide because additional criteria and restrictions may apply. Does Cardinal Apartments accept Section 8 or housing vouchers?
Cardinal Apartments is currently unable to process Section 8 vouchers. However, our leasing team may be able to provide a list of local housing resources or communities obtained through the city upon request.
Utilities, Renter’s Insurance and Resident Payments
Who are the utility providers?
Electricity is provided by Duke Energy.
Water is submetered and paid with your monthly rent. Cable and internet services are optional and may be obtained through Spectrum or AT&T. Residents should confirm current service and account requirements with the leasing team before moving in.
Is renter’s insurance required?
Yes. Residents are required to maintain at least $100,000 in liability coverage and $25,000 in personal-contents coverage.
Cardinal Apartments may be able to connect you with a cost-effective insurance provider if you do not already have a qualifying policy.
Is there a place where I can pay rent after office hours?
Cardinal Apartments does not have a physical rent-payment drop box. However, residents may be able to electronically submit a cashier’s check or money order through Green Dot. Contact the leasing team for assistance using this payment option.
Do you accept electronic rent payments?
Yes. Residents can make payments through ACH bank transfers, debit cards, and credit cards using the online Resident Portal. Processing or convenience fees may apply depending on the payment method selected.
Can I change to a month-to-month lease after my first year?
In some cases, yes. If you do not sign a new lease renewal, your lease may automatically convert to a month-to-month agreement under the terms and conditions of your original lease, including the required notice period.
Month-to-month rent is typically higher and may include additional fees. Contact the leasing team before your current lease ends to compare your available renewal options.
How do residents submit maintenance requests?
Residents can submit routine maintenance requests through the online Resident Portal. Cardinal Apartments also provides 24-hour emergency maintenance for qualifying emergencies.
Where can I register to vote in Guilford County?
Residents can find voter-registration information, polling-place details, election information, and contact resources through the Guilford County Board of Elections.
